Lynn Sanderson, VMD
Lynn Sanderson, VMD grew up in Nanty Glo, PA. He earned a B. S. in Animal Science from The Pennsylvania State University in 1974. In 1978, Lynn graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. He began his veterinary career at a general practice in Pittsburgh, PA, where he also did work at the Pittsburgh zoo. In 1980, he joined Richland Veterinary Associates as an associate. He became a partner at Richland Veterinary Associates in 1991 and the proprietor in 2006.
Lynn’s driving force is to minimize any stress a visit to the veterinarian may cause the patient or the owner. Having so many years of practical experience, he still realizes the value of continuing education to always be aware of the latest medications and techniques as it allows him to provide the best quality of medicine possible. In keeping with his belief that there can be a benefit to advancements in technology, he brought MLS Laser Therapy to Richland Veterinary Associates to provide patients with additional treatment options.
Lynn resides in Portage, PA with his wife Paula of 33 years and their dog, Roo and cat, Rainey. They have a son who is married and practices law. When not practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Sanderson enjoys fishkeeping in both aquariums and his pond. His gardening interest has created a beautiful property where they can enjoy wildlife from birds to bears.
Karen Kemp Tiffany, VMD
Karen Kemp Tiffany is a native of Davidsville, PA. She graduated in 1999 from Taylor University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Karen graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. After working in general veterinary practice for two years in the Northern Virginia area, she then moved back home and has since been an associate veterinarian at the Richland Veterinary Associates.
She enjoys all aspects of small animal veterinary medicine but has particular interests in soft tissue surgery. The most fulfilling part of her career has been the opportunity to maintain relationships with the same owners and their pets over the past several years, watching them grow from puppies and kittens into beloved family members.
Dr. Tiffany currently resides in Richland with her family that includes her husband, daughter, son and cats Sydney and Riley.
Christy Claycomb, VMD
Christy Claycomb, VMD grew up in rural Pennsylvania and graduated from Claysburg-Kimmel High School in 1998. She attended Juniata College and graduated in 2002 with a bachelor degree in Animal Bioscience. Dr. Claycomb completed her formal education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2006. She started her veterinary career in the Hershey area and then became a member of the Richland Veterinary Associates team in March 2008.
While she enjoys all aspects of her career, Dr. Christy’s true passion is surgery and she is very fortunate to be able to offer laser surgery at Richland Veterinary Associates. She also has a special interest in emergency medicine and enjoys the fast pace and unpredictability of cases this type of work provides.
Christy currently resides in Bedford County with her husband and 3 young children, one rescue dog, 3 pugs and 2 cats. As you can imagine, free time is a thing of the past. However, she strives to maintain a healthy balance and thanks God for her loving and supportive family and the wonderful clients and pets she has grown to love.
Leah Trout, DVM
Leah Trout, DVM, is a native of Johnstown, Pa and graduate of Forest Hills High School. She earned a B.S. in Biology from Saint Francis University while working as a Veterinary Assistant at Richland Veterinary Associates. Leah attended The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated magna cum laude in 2014.
Leah is looking forward to all aspects of veterinary medicine. She is excited to develop relationships with owners and their pets and help them through all of the stages of life. Leah’s special interests are in avian and exotic animal medicine.
Leah resides in Sidman, Pa with her husband, two dogs (Jax and Gilligan) and Cockatiel (Rowan). During her free time, Leah enjoys reading, playing the saxophone, and spending time on her family’s farm.
Dan Bukowski, VMD
Dan earned his veterinarian degree at the University of Pennsylvania of Veterinarian Medicine. His formal training allowed him to develop an interest in neurology and internal medicine. Dan was employed as a veterinarian assistant at Richland Veterinary Associates for seven years prior to his terminal degree. He is a native of Hastings, PA (where he now resides) and a graduate of Bishop Carroll High School. Dan enjoys reading, birding watching and spending time with his family. As an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, Dan will be cheering for the Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins.
