Christy Claycomb, VMD grew up in rural Pennsylvania and graduated from Claysburg-Kimmel High School in 1998.  She attended Juniata College and graduated in 2002 with a bachelor degree in Animal Bioscience.  Dr. Claycomb completed her formal education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2006.   She started her veterinary career in the Hershey area and then became a member of the Richland Veterinary Hospital team in March 2008.

While she enjoys all aspects of her career, Dr. Christy’s true passion is surgery and she is very fortunate to be able to offer laser surgery at the Richland Veterinary Hospital.  She also has a special interest in emergency medicine and enjoys the fast pace and unpredictability of cases this type of work provides.

Christy currently resides in Bedford County with her husband and 3 young children, one rescue dog, 3 pugs and 2 cats.  As you can imagine, free time is a thing of the past.  However, she strives to maintain a healthy balance and thanks God for her loving and supportive family and the wonderful clients and pets she has grown to love.
